ACEC/VT members actively participate in legislation affecting the business of engineering practice, and public safety, environmental protection, and economic well-being in Vermont. Members provide expert testimony on the practical ramifications of proposed legislation, based on their knowledge of scientific and engineering principles, and experience implementing regulations in daily practice.
ACEC/VT has established regular forums with the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources and Vermont Agency of Transportation to discuss issues of common interest. ACEC/VT members also participate in special advisory and ad hoc committees on topics such as, "Innovative/Alternative Onsite Wastewater Treatment Methods" and "Uses for Discarded Tires in Civil Engineering Applications".
